Donuts and Doughnuts

When you are running late for school, work, or a meeting and you want something simple, fast, yet rewarding in taste, the one thing that you cannot go wrong with is doughnuts. Not only are they delicious they are satisfying in taste and there are plenty of flavors and shapes to choose from. There are glazed, ones covered in chocolate, plain, ones topped with sprinkles, and some filled with different flavors of jelly. You can choose from circled, long, or the little doughnut holes for the convenience of grab and go. In today’s time doughnuts have become the new type of breakfast sine people are in such a rush and do not have time to sit down and eat they settle for something fast and easy. It is a simple snack that can get anytime and easy to get your hands on. With a bunch of doughnut shops to choose from the one with big names such as “Yum Yum” donuts and “Krispy Kreme” to the and mom and pop shops such as Miss Donut there is a type and location for everyone. Yet when people are asked, what their favorite doughnut is most said that it is Krispy Kreme because of the unique taste it has. I personally do not see what is so good about them they are doughnuts but when you mention them to a group of people their mouths. I think that doughnut holes are the best. They are small and easy to eat all you need to do is pop one in your mouth. They are also very cheap you can get about a dozen for a dollar or a little bit more. In addition, I have notices that when there are morning meetings for a company or schools club or a class party it never fails that there are doughnuts and that those are the first to go. I think it is because of its great sweet taste. Yes, doughnuts are high in sugar and calories. It may not be the best choice for breakfast, but take into consideration the convince in locations and price it is a good deal. Doughnuts are not only affordable and convenient but there are varieties of choices that can satisfy even the pickiest sweet tooth.

  1. Donuts are a staple for American breakfast foods there is so much more to a doughnut than just its sweet fluffy taste. What about the crisp yet soft textured that melts in your mouth with every bite or the cool feeling you get when the icing attacks your taste buds for the first time? I think there is so much more that can be said to the fact that every one knows what is inside the big pink bakers box sitting in an office or a lounge. Your mouth starts to salivate and your tummy begins to grumble.
Yet, in reality doughnuts are just fried pieces of saturated dough that clog your arteries and take years off of your precious life. The amount of calories in even the small doughnut bites are not worth the three hour workout that must follow. Americans mistake doughnuts for breakfast when in reality in most other countries they are only considered desserts. We have skewed visions of what should be eaten at certain times and personally although they are very appetizing and a guilty pleasure they should only be eaten in moderation.

  2. I would have to agree with you. We see doughnuts as a simple and on the go breakfast. Many of us that are running late to school or work and don’t have time for a nice home cook breakfast tend to stop at a doughnut shop. We think that is fast and easy because they only required one hand to hold them. While we are driving with the other hand (as many of us do that only drive with one hand) we use the other hand to grab the doughnut or coffee. Yet, there are those other people that are just lazy to cook breakfast for themselves or children and we tend to have a box of doughnuts at the house that they can eat while they are going to their destination. We tend to say just for today but usually its more than one day. Until that box of doughnuts finishes then it’s when we start to actually have a good breakfast. Doughnuts are a delicious treat that can be eaten once in a while not every single day. Yes, doughnuts are just fried pieces of saturated fat dough than can be bad for our health. If we were to eat then constantly they will be bad for our health later on in the future. That is why we need to limit ourselves from eating these saturated fat foods that taste so delicious.
